Abyss Jewels Jewels Mechanics - Please help!
How does the abyss jewel mod: "Adds X to X damage to spells" interact with Blight?
From my understanding, "adds" damage effects do not work with blight because blight does not hit. Yet, when I place the jewel in a socket, the Blight tooltip claims that my DPS has increased. Is the tooltip accurate? Last bumped on Jan 6, 2018, 3:36:27 PM

The words "tooltip" and "accurate" should never be put in the same sentence in this game.
Added damage does not work with damage over time skills. You initial assumption was correct. The tooltip is lying, it likes to do that quite often. I make dumb builds, therefore I am.

" It's worth noting, the counter for Blight's debuff Damage is perfectly accurate, as is Hit Damage for any Skill that Hits. Just don't look at Hit Damage (the DPS display only counts Hit Damage) for pure DoT Skills :/ |

" Assuming an enemy with zero resistances unaffected by any buffs/debuffs. And not counting conditional modifiers (e.g. Hypothermia), even if they always apply (Doomfletch's Prism). Also any form of resistance penetration. And so on. It is "perfectly accurate" in so far as it accurately calculates all the factors that it chooses to take into account. " It is listing the Damage you put out, not the Damage your enemy takes, so of course it doesn't account for modifiers that rely on enemy factors 'n all of that shit. It shows what it is designed to show; it's only horribly inaccurate if you assume it does far more. Same reason PoB is nothing more than a hypothetical. Doomfletch's Prism is uniquely bugged due to it using the same modifier as its predecessor; it technically is a random modifier, it just always picks all three options. Wow. That's exactly one highly specific scenario :/ Hypothermia, Doomfletch and Pen all can never apply to Blight's DoT anyways, which is what I explicitly commented on >.>" But fine, just ignore that.
