That not true.

Scamming is against their policy; you can report people to get your stuff back and they do punish people for it.

"If" this is true GGG will take action.

Omg this is adorable. While it is true that GGG have at least once (perandus league) banned egregious repeated-offense scammers, they never, will never, and even have a *policy* to never return items to people, under any circumstances. Doesn't matter if you were completely scammed, doesn't matter if it was a fucking server error. No items will be returned.

Also, read the terms of service, scamming isn't actually banned--GGG just has discretionary ban power baked into the rules (as they should).

I've had it done twice, so yeah...
Affecting sells too so fucking stupid.

Can't believe those moron mods let it stay up there Reddit wise our mods here are coo most of the time.

Were GGG to start banning people based on fairly common ideas of 'scamming' and 'exploitation' you'd see a ridiculous drop in player population.

That said, this is definitely closer to a scam than a simple rip-off or pricing dispute. It's pretty much theft. GGG, being the good reddit users they are, are probably already figuring out how to deal with it.

Baiting-and-switching items according to agreed purchases is illegal in most countries as well. I think you are way too lax on what you consider "scamming".

Buying low and selling high though, that's just basic economics. Wouldn't call people who snipe deals "scammers". *Would* call people who list items for prices they aren't willing to trade at scammers, though, since "blatantly false advertising" is also illegal in many countries.

I don't believe you. At all. Unless you're talking about back during the original closed beta, where they might've had more lax rules? Their policy since release is hyper-explicit: they will not restore items no matter what.

Actually you are full of it. GGG does not ban because of scaming and they do not restore items under any circumstances. They have no way of determining if a scam even legitimately took place for items let alone possibly agreed upon services. Go ahead and try, GGG will not help you.

I see nothing wrong.

In my opinion, people trying to buy their way into achievements aren't really accomplishing anything, so more power to the person that is able to capitalize on the small minded masses that aren't capable of 'legitimately' completing/finding the achievement themselves.

That being said, I fully agree with others that have stated that some of the achievements are bound to way too much RNG for them to really be considered an achievement. I understand setting a 'high bar' for certain achievements so that it encourages longer player engagement/retention and for top-tier players to strive for, but when those things are gated behind a probability of occurrence, it makes no sense.
"We were going to monitor the situation but it was in the wrong aspect ratio."
GGG deserve a horde of pissed off players to come rattling their cage because fundamentally the issue here isn't that scammers are taking their currency, its that the RNG spawns for challenges are so unbelievably garbage that everyone has to buy it to get it done.

like FFS GGG this is the only thing I genuinely feel they are truly incompetant at, "endgame grinds" should be the only challenge thats just a huge number of monotonous bullshit to complete the rest should either be able to be focused (like 8mod of every tier etc) or happen naturally while your enjoying the game (most other challenges).

Liches is retarded, depths are rare, liches in depths are rare still and a non-shitty lich is rarer than that I mean just get real I should be at least 25/50 for liches now with the amount of playtime i've put in but i've seen 2, I genuinely expect to finish the league at < 10

You sound very upset over this entirely free video game. There are plethora of other free games on steam and android/iphone store apps that may help you take your mind off the carnage you're currently experiencing.

No, that argument doesn't hold water, sorry. Even free to play players of this game so many of us financially supported 100% voluntarily have the right (and I think duty) to air their issues provided they are civil and constructive. I don't think draegnarrrr sounds that upset at all: I'm not seeing allcaps, an abundance of swearing or insulting, threats to quit or any other indications of being 'very upset'.

And he or she is 100% right. This does land squarely at GGG's feet for making challenge conditions something you can purchase *and* for making the spawn so rare people *are* going to just buy them. This is just another facet of GGG's hubris when it comes to trading and PoE: they're really proud of how prolific it is, without considering that not everything is prolific because people really like and enjoy it. Cancer, for example.

When and if GGG implement a robust trading system, then maybe including trading in the league challenges should be a thing. But certainly not before. This sort of scam, and it absolutely is a scam, was inevitable. And it's not even new. It's just another form of bait-and-switch we've seen for years now, using a little bit of the game's HO manipulation flexibility against itself. Oh so clever...

I don't know what sort of response GGG have made but it wouldn't surprise me if it were something as arbitrary as 'removed the ability to place Hideout objects over the waypoint'. They're *that* fiercely proud of these tradeable challenges, which just beg to attract scamming. There is a point at which 'Caveat Emptor' no longer applies, and I'd argue that point is when GGG themselves encourage people to be reckless, impatient and ultimately allow themselves to be deceived when it comes to trusting strangers in the game.
If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period.
