Possible Bug? Act 4 The Eternal Nightmare

So I killed all three bosses and looted the items needed to help Piety..Doedre, Maligaro, and Shavoronne. Got my waypoint..logged out for a few minutes to take a break..log back in and have to re kill the bosses again and do that part all over...wth? Is this a bug or intended retardation?

Thank you. I do feel they should somehow warn you before you log..like "if you log current quest will not be completed".
