FP Volley

Has anyone tried Freezing Pulse with the new Volley Support?

I'm currently running FP totems in HCAbyss, but looking at the volley gem has me wanting to try running it self cast. Wasn't sure if it would be a waste of time/gem slot with a lack of shotgunning mechanics.

I'm at work right now so I can't test it myself and Google yielded zero results.

If nothing else it would be worth the LOLz with two first snow jewels, but would it be viable, especially HC

I've leveled with Frostbolt + Volley until I had my ascendency for GC mines, and I can tell you it's phenomenal. Don't know how well it works with FP, since you have to get much closer to deal actual damage.

My FP build for legacy worked well, but with ES and VP nerf, it's not that great anymore. I'd pick Frostbolt over FP for selfcast, but that's a matter of taste, I guess.
