Cosmetic: Paint System for Gear

I want my item sets to match color wise. There's nothing quite like purple boots plus a golden chest. It would be pretty cool to be able to recolor items somehow. Maybe overall themes (dark, light, etc.) can be created and purchasable.

I'm not too far off if I'd say 90% of all PoE players have that hidden mentality of a fanboy whose pride won't allow accepting anything that relates to any other game, as in your suggestion now, D3 and GW2.

They just want something different for the sake of it.
By introducing borrowed ideas, they'll flip out because they fear they lose the status of being a unique little snowflake by being assosiated with something they see as one.

Proud kids or adults with identity issues and low selfesteem gonna keep hating working, good ideas, just for the sake that they are "already invented".

Interesting poster above, but I kinda like the idea of being able to paint your gear one shade. I have enjoyed dyeing my stuff before in other games, so why not?

I would rather not have a pink dye but the idea itself has merit..... maybe make some common currencies (maybe scroll of wisdom level) that change the color of 1 item to a different color.


That said, it would be a LOT of work to re-color and re-shade every piece of equipment 8 or 9 times for this.

Would probably be best as a cheap MT though. I mean, not that I mind free things, but I think this would be worth paying for.

Something related but a little less mainstream (only seen this in one other game) would be to have armors in the microtransaction shop that would change the appearance of a helm/chest/glove/boot regardless of how the original item looked. could also implement a way to change the color scheme of that armor as well.

I agree with OP's suggestion.
Second poster: Just because another game came up with something doesn't mean that it is trademarked to that game, and it would be taking from any particular game.

I think this would be a wonderful addition to POE, and honestly, I would think the devs already had plans for this in the future, just not a priority.
