Map Device Crafting Help

First, I play on the XBox One, so not sure how that affects things. I can't figure out how apply any of the crafted map mods. When I try to apply them, nothing happens. Unlike the other crafting stations, there is no A button option to apply the mods to the map. The Mods are all yellow so they are supposedly selectable (I've put in map fragments and unique maps and certain ones turn red). I also have the required currency in my stash. Not sure if they are applied automatically just by highlighting the option when I activate the map device, or if I'm missing something. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
