Does GGG hate Love ?

Playing through the new Fall of Oriath content, and thus far only Petarus and Vanja have been allowed to remain a couple. Otherwise, if we get a quest to rescue a loved one, without fail we can predict that poor soul to be already dead. New couples created in Fall of Oriath fair no better, so far all have met bitter ends. Why no diversity on this GGG ?
