Ancient orb or wiki are wrong

So I used an Ancient Orb on a Forbidden Taste, hoping to get the same item class that is Utility Flasks as it says in the ancient orb wiki page, but I got a Divination Distillate which is a Hybrid Flasks

I personally don't think this is a bug, as "flask" is an item class, and "utility flask" is a subtype. If I'm reading the orb correctly, it rerolls within the largest class available, so a unique ES chest wont necessarily turn into another unique ES chest, it would have the possibility of turning into an armor chest. If I'm wrong, then please correct me on these observations GGG.

It's a flask, it turned into another flask, it did exactly what anyone who wasn't wishful thinking would expect it to.
Pandering to players who don't want consequences for their mistakes is a perfect description of what went fundamentally wrong with D3 and 4.
If they wanted mindless mobile game time waster gameplay they sure did make some perplexing choices and marketing statements for 6 fucking years. |

Ancient Orb says it turns it into another unique flask, not flask of same type lol

Thanks for the report. I corrected the wiki article, since the link to "item class" there was misleading.

Anyone know if you can roll boss specific items or league specific items with an ancient orb? Things like starforge, disfavour, hh etc.

|
" Actually, the wiki is still misleading because the item class page lists each type of flask (life, mana) as a different CLASS. Not even wishful thinking lmao just straight up not clear descriptions. Now I don't really see the point of Ancient Orbs, takes forever to get enough shards to make one and you get on random unique reroll that can be crap? Well would be cool if the in-game description was at least made more specific. |
|
" Well, at first I also thought it would make a new unique in the same type but that would be too easy to get Headhunter. |
|
" Yeah, that is more or less correct. It is a gamble orb, in line with what other orbs do. Well, except for Mirror of Calandra maybe. |
|
" Changing the article item class wouldn't be correct, because the Ancient Orb is the odd one here. The very sentence where item class is linked addresses flasks to clarify that. |
