Question About Wild Strike

I need help understanding wild strike

So 100% of damage convert to fire, cold or lightning.

Let say my base damage is 100, wild strike deals 130% of base damage, so my damage will be 130 physical damage. However 100% of it is convert to fire, cold or lightning. So when i strike a enemy, that enemy takes 130 and any other enemy around it who are hit by the icy wave, explosion or the arc of lightning, they also take 130 fire, cold or lightning damage.

Is this correct?

Now lets say my base damage is 100. Wild strike deals 130% of base, so 130. I link melee physical damage to it. Let say the gem is level 1. So it increases my melee damage by 30 percent. So 30% increase of 130 is 169 (if i did my math right). So my melee part of the attack does 169, however that damage gets converted into fire, cold or lightning damage. So when i strike a enemy, that enemy takes 169 and any other enemy around it who are hit by the icy wave, explosion or the arc of lightning, they all also take 169 fire, cold or lightning damage.

Is this correct?

Now lets also say that my base is 100. Wild strike...blah blah blah, 130. I link WED and its level 1. So that is a 40 percent increase. I attack the enemy. The melee part deals 130. That 130 is also converted to fire, cold or lightning damage. So the enemy being hit by my melee attack only takes 130. However, ever other enemy getting hit by the icy wave, explosion or the arc of lightning take 182 because of 40% from WED.

Is this correct?

It is better to increase the damage of the elemental part of wild strike because the enemy being hit by ur melee attack also gets hit by the elemental part of wild strike.

Is this correct?

Thank you

Yes.

Is this correct?

Not quite. For the initial hit yes, but the secondary effect is not melee damage. Melee Physical Damage won't buff it, and it will only deal 130 damage in this instance.

No. All of Wild Strike's damage is elemental, so WED applies to all of it. The melee attack and secondary effect both deal 182 damage.

Is this correct?

No. The secondary effect does not hit the target struck by the melee attack, even though it looks like it should. Also the two scale off the same things, except for melee damage not working on the secondary effects. Physical and elemental damage increases will do the exact same thing for Wild Strike though.

Also, any physical damage increase nodes would also increase the damage of melee attack and the secondary effect right?

Thanks for the help

Thanks for the help

Yes, as long as they aren't melee. Weapon specific nodes are usually your best bet here.

The nodes I got was the 8% increase physical damage with claws. So im guessing that works.
