the fall of oriath LABYRINTH
" MY GOD dont say it, they may like this idea. Just imagine all maps with traps and GOLDEN DOORS. OH Where there is a golden door... |

I'm sure most people love the lab and only a vocal very small minority doesn't like it.

" This is how all online game forums are, to be honest... Coming from playing WoW to Poe, it's the same exact thing on wow.. Tons of people fine with something in-game, and then the small vocal minority on the forums up in arms about it like it's the end of the world. |

^thats pretty genralizing. Most people dont whine about it but in no way does that equate to loving it.

You also have to realize that there's a bunch of people who simply quit and never looked back.

I was able to get through the lab with 500ms ping. It required a bit of luck though, I'm not gonna lie. I had to use lockstep. And I used leap slam to move around. I had a decent amount of HP regen, somewhere in the 600/s range. This was a few patches ago, and I used an earthquake build. Had something like 7k HP, and that was wearing a fucking tabula rasa for a 6l. So my gear wasn't all that great.
Izaro wasn't a problem. I had enough DPS where each phase took 3-4 secs. That was for merc lab. FYI, I *HATE* the lab, passionately, even though I can beat it under worst case scenario conditions. The traps need to go from being extremely lethal to being a minor inconvenience. I don't and have never had a problem beating Izaro with anything. Even merc Izaro can be taken out with leveling gear. I don't have problems with a boss fight, even a tough one, but the traps are just bullshit. Here is what my solution to the lab would be: Nerf traps, buff Izaro. Make it to where you gotta take his full HP bar away for each phase, with him getting an increasing amount of max HP for each stage. If you don't have the dps to take out Izaro before he gibs you, then pay someone a couple chaos orbs to rush you. This would allow players who wish to get rushed to be able to do that without getting gibbed by traps as easily, and players who want to rush labs will have to make stronger builds to not get bogged down by Izaro. " Still wouldn't solve the HC problem. The Izzy fight can't be learned without dying in Merciless a few times. It takes too long to get a character to that point in HC to risk it. Until that issue is resolved, the lab will still suck. And while there are a lot of builds that can trivialize Izzy, there's twice as many that can't do it. That narrows the scope of what characters are "viable" by a lot. The lab is simply too hard until it's not. That design keeps players from enjoying it on either end. " You're being needlessly masochistic trying to HC blind run Izaro. I can't speak for everyone, but it seems pretty common for HC players to first learn the fights in SC before they attempt them in HC. Your complaint seems to be that you can't beat it with self imposed limitations on your playing style. I have no such limitations. I use whatever I need to use to win. I take the path of least resistance in these games. Back in old school D3 Inferno, back when that game was absolutely brutal, like harder than PoE has ever been, and ever will be, Kripparian would practice the fights/areas in SC with a similarly geared build before attempting it in HC. The SC build actually had slightly worse gear. Last edited by MrSmiley21#1051 on Jun 16, 2017, 9:27:03 AM
