It's really not a smart idea to threaten a super power <.<

I'm confused of WHY you would threaten a super power ESPECIALLY with one of the most aggressive presidents as well T_T

" 60-70 years of technological and military progress would like a word with YOU | |
Um, two points.
First. This isn't new rhetoric coming from the North. They always do this. Every year. They threaten the US and our allies all the time - year after year. Decades. Every year we hold joint-military exercises with the South and the North goes ape-shit. Second. The legitimacy of the North Korean regime from their people's point of view is standing up for themselves against the "evil" United States. If the North wasn't anti-US/western they would probably collapse. It's not likely Trump will preemptively strike North Korea. No matter what the TV critters wants you to believe. Also, Trump's meeting with Xi went well which is another indicator there won't be a war. But it wouldn't hurt if Seoul had a Trump Hotel .. Last edited by coatofarms on Apr 15, 2017, 2:42:29 AM

" eh.. I watched the whole thing live. " I've read a couple of analyses back in the days. In short - undoubtedly the world's most powerful military force can break NK to pieces. But when you are starting a war, you also take the consequences into account (casulties, costs, political/geopolitical dividents/losses). Single air/rocket strikes won't bring anything good - NK will immeadiately attack their south brothers, forcing US to get involved into a real war. When they do, it is gonna be a dirty business - no matter the archaic equipment and machinery, north koreans are able to successfully defend themselves to an extent. The terrain, which isn't flat as in SK but with plenty of mountains and hills, allows building of multiple effective lines of defense - both anti-air and anti-ground. Landing of US ground forces at the sea coast is out of the equation. At the only bay which can serve this purpose there are more sea mines than water. Another factor is the motivation - it's not Iraq where goatfuckers used to flee in masses. Korean soldiers are brainwashed, with high morality, and are going to actually fight. It'll be a bloody war, not a desert storm simulator. Further, analyzers state that China won't interfere if there are single strikes and/or limited military operation, but are all in if the NK is facing a catastrophical defeat and the regime is going to fall. Chinese won't allow a change of the system and a US puppet at their door. So the situation is quite complicated and Mr. Trumpy got to think twice of what and how's he doing, because besides the potential military casulties, he may start a domino effect.
