Path of Exile on X1 will be offline singleplayer??? Do people know this??

Okay.

I get the whole offline singleplayer kind of thing is awsome. But why decide to not add online? Isn't that a big part of the game itself? Trading, clans, dungeon delving with friends? Are there any plans to release multiplayer soon after? I love this game don't get me wrong. Played off and on for quite a few years now. But it just seems to me they're only releasing half the game. I haven't had too much time to see what people have been talking about on the forums to see if more people are aware of this. But are there literally any benefits to a PC player playing one Xbox? What's everyone else's thoughts about this?

First I've heard of it, and it's really disappointing news to be honest. Unlike some more vocal members on the forum, I actually viewed the Xbox port as being as positive thing, but if I can't team up with my buddies I really don't see the point in playing it on Xbox.

It is also likely to crimp a lot of the more unusual builds that may not shine till late game. If you can't team up to get through the difficulty spikes or boss fights that destroy certain builds at a low level, then people are either going to abandon those builds, or the game entirely.

This thread is misinformed.

He said "Not initially", which probably means they want to, but it's a technical hurdle.

He also explicitly said that the game is an online game a week ago.

I didn't know it was single player only. That's lame as fuck. Absolutely zero incentive to play it on the console when the PC version is far superior.

EDIT: I don't know what is going on with this game on console...
Remember when I won a screenshot contest and made everyone butt-hurt? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

I know! I have been looking forward to it releasing on Xbox so I can play with my friends! And I've been telling everyone about it. If they do eventually plan on adding online. I wonder if theyll do what Diablo 2 did. And just make you connect to their server and start over. People who plan on playing it on Xbox should really step up and try to somehow convince them to add that. I'm just so bummed about this man. This is literally like having one of my favorite games get canceled within a few months of release lol

Oh I hope your right Rambo! I'm sorry if I am wrong. I just watched the interview and immediately came here to post.

BUT Rambo. He could be talking about that you have to play singleplayer while online. To help prevent cheaters and your character being stored on their end. So it still could be technically singleplayer. Which puts me back at square one.

He also said, no guarantees. So until we hear otherwise, for now it's single player only.

That is pretty much the case with 99.5% of games that are both on console and PC...
Being single player makes me more eager to play it. Coz it is the real SSF!
