Flame totem gear choices?

Hey. im quite new at the game only been playing since OB start. I have just made a flame totem templar and it's been quite fun so far just reached a level when i can use flame totem.

Now too the question, i have looked through the gear i have kept from my higher level characters and found some pretty nice stuff.



but i have checked my dps on flame totem when i switch diffrent stuff out, i have noticed i don't get any dps increase with % fire damage

here i would think the 2nd ring would be the better one since flame totem deals fire damage and +% fire damage should increase it's damage, the tool tip for flame totem dosn't change when i switch these rings out.


Am i just not understanding this right or is it hidden dps?

I am curious of the answer also ... I put a ring with 6% increased fire damage and the dps on flame totem tooltip didn't chance... help some1?
