Could someone give me tips on my build

Hi guys,
quick explanation. This is my first character (started playing couple weeks ago). this is also my own build, because following some build guide on your first character is almost impossible and i didn't want to do that because i think i need to experience the game first before doing that.
atm i have a templar lvl 85 inquisitor. the main problem is the defence. for example, i needed a carry through merc lab today.
