How does Ci + Ghost reaver + Vaal pact work?

Doesn't life leech use your life which is 1, making it leech practically nothing?

try reading again what the passives do.
1. Total recovery is based on Damage dealt, not Life. With 1 Life, you can still Leech 15000 Life if you have sufficient Damage and Leech.
2. Recovery rate is relative to Maximum Life, but Vaal Pact negates that.
3. ES Leech doesn't give a shit about Life, it's ES Leech.

1. No. Lol
2. No. Lol
3. Yes. Lol.

OP, read the reply by Rumstein: https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/3dbclw/how_does_life_leech_work_nowadays_back_from_a/] it talks about the life leech mechanic and how Vaal pact works with it. Life leech in PoE is a complex, multifaceted system but Rumstein does a great job at clearing It up.

Essentially VP removes the leech rate, so if you would have gotten back 900 health in 3 seconds, you get that 900 health back immediately. The upside is you leech instantly, filling up health in a split second. The downside is sometimes it's better to have a constant flow of incoming health, especially if your leech rate is really really high. You decide which way works best for you.

Attempting to refute two points from the Valued Poster most known for his extensive knowledge of game mechanics. Very gutsy.

I won't touch that shitstorm, but I will say - why use {u}? That almost seems like an intentional troll when {url} is available and underlines the link already anyways. Perhaps this is the first you've heard of {url}?

what?

vipermagi is right. as he said, TOTAL RECOVERY is based on damage dealt. nobody is talking about the life leech rate, which is capped by your maximum life, again as he said "Recovery rate is relative to Maximum Life, but Vaal Pact negates that."

not sure what you're going to try to debate about this. viper said the correct thing, specifically that recovery rate is relative to maximum life but vaal pact negates that, you said no, then you said "Essentially VP removes the leech rate"

lol
guess you were just confused with the wording viper used, but he used the correct wording, as this game is extremely specific in its wording for mechanics

I got my BF claw end game char closer to ready using ghost reaver CI and vaal pact- still a lot of tweaking needed to it but i got about 4% phys leech converted to ES from gear jewels passives etc (mostly claw implicit)- not a lot but it makes a difference as seen in the corrupted colosseum vid below

https://youtu.be/LZqcJXLRdhY Build Overview
https://youtu.be/ypEZH4sNC8E Corrupted colosseum map

I quite literally just uploaded these so may take a couple mins for processing to post them on youtube
I got a fever and the only prescription, is more cowbell!
"Doesn't life leech use your life which is 1, making it leech practically nothing?"
No, it is not.

From my understanding it works like that:

I have x% life leech from items and nodes or whatever source. When I do damage, % of damage dealt I am receiving/leeching as life. Due Ghost Reaver that leached life is applied into Energy Shield and not life and because I have Vaal Pact that leeched life is added to my energy shield immediately and not over time. .

Without Vaal Pact leeched life looks visually the same way like life regeneration, but faster depends on amount of leeched hp.

On poe wiki there is page including formula and explanation how life leech works.

I really don´t know why people feel the need to write essays instead of answering OP´s question.

OP, all you have to do is read the explanation of the Keystone Ghost Reaver.
It says: "Life Leech is applied to Energy Shield instead".

And that´s all you need to know. The question wasn´t "How does Life Leech work?"
Even though I´ll admit the reddit post was interesting. I have learned something.

And to be a smartass too, bc that seems to be the way people act here,
your leech wouldn´t be practically nothing, it would be nothing because if you have CI
and you wouldn´t have Ghost Reaver, your leech Dmg would have no Pool to be transferred to.

1 Hp Cap means that you can have only 1 Hp or 0 Hp. And with 0 Hp you´re dead. That´s the extent
of possibilities there. Reading Ghost Reaver Keystone answers your question.
