Paragon of Calamity and Righteous Fire

Hi all, i know well that since RF doesn't hit it can't itself activate the Paragon of Calamity buff,
BUT when i'm hit by any fire damage, does the '8% reduced Damage taken of that Element' reduce the burning damage i'm taking while RF is active?

Ty for your help, i tryed to test myself it but i'm unable to measure accurately enough to be sure.
