Steam sales wants to have a word with you ^^
Their usual sales go around 25-40% so it doesn't mean cutting the income by all too much. If it's a 10y sale it's an opportunity that probably comes once in your entire PoE career, I suppose that anyone who even considered buying points will do it.

Might be a good thing, they've probably had someone run the estimate already or plan on doing it. We've had a big christmas sale once but I don't think that went well because people expected it to happen again next year and were probably hoarding points for months, this wouldn't be an annual thing so no danger of that happening again.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

Cutting prices by 50% cuts profits by a lot more than 50% :P

It doesn't quite work that way. The prices are down, but the volume would be much higher. Do you think companies would run sales if they end up losing money? Not in the slightest.

Here's an example -- Steam Summer Sale (or any Steam sale for that matter). If you see a game you kind of want, but could easily live without, marked down 50% -- wouldn't you be more likely to buy it? The company has now sold a product at a reduced price, but it's still a gain for them because had they not run a sale, they would have received $0 from you.
