There's nothing to change or fix, it's not a bug and is working as intended. If you want something changed, go to the feedback forum.
GGG does not restore any HC character for any reason. You learned the hard way, unfortunately, what a caustic flask can do. You aren't the first and won't be the last to die this way. Besides, if it didn't kill you in your hideout you would have just gone out into the world with it equipped not expecting it to kill you. So you were going to lose that character anyway.

dose it matter? you would have died as soon as you went out into the world anyway since you wouldn't have noticed the flasks mods (especially if you didn't understand the text the first time round)
