Corrupted support gems+items.

Hello,
I am new in this perfect game and I have some questions. I've seen in some video guides, that players have corrupted support gems and also some items such weapons etc...Why should I corrupt support gems and items ? Does this have any effects ? Also If I got a problem to find good item with sockets and colors, where or how can I farm orb of fusing, jeweller's orb and chromatic orb ? They seems to be rare to drop, even from items I am selling, so at higher levels it's hard to have an item with good stats/sockets without these orbs. Corrupting items and gems have a chance of granting special mods not obtainable otherwise, check here for a full list:

You can get jeweller's and fusing orbs by selling identified loot for Alteration shards, which will stack into Alteration orbs at 20 shards. At certain vendors in the cities you can buy some currency: 1 jeweller's orb costs 2 alteration orbs. 1 fusing orb costs 4 jeweller's orbs. You can get chromatic orbs by selling items you find that have one red, one blue, one green socket that are linked. "Just take one. I use Antnee's, many people recommend Neversink's. And worst change is putting almost all bosses in new version of maps into fucking small areas, where you can't kite well or dodge stuff. What a terrible idiot invented that I want say to him: dude flick you, seriously flick you very much.

And check the vendors inventory every level in act 1, 2, 3, 4 if you want new items with sockets/links. Their inventory changes every level up as far as i know.
