Does Lava Lash's 8% Fire Pen work with Ancestral Warchief?

I've taken the Lava Lash node, but the tooltip on my Ancestral Warchief skill only notes 38% Fire Penetration from the Fire Pen gem I'm using, it doesn't make any reference to the added 8% from Lava Lash.

Any views if Lava Lash's 8% Fire Pen "Damage with Weapons Penetrates 8% Fire Resistance" works with Ancestral Warchief?

Thanks!

Yes

Your Totems use your Offensive Stats at all times, never their own

(The only time this "doesn't work" is with buffs gained on-hit or on-kill, and similar effects - the Totem would gain the buff, since it does the Hitting or Killing, but can't, because it uses your stats, not its own. In this case, "penetrates 8% fire with Weapons" is your stat, so the Totem can use it at all times).

EDIT: Oh, one thing I forgot to mention. You said you only see Fire Penetration Support's effect in your Ancestral Warchief tooltip. That's because the tooltip can only show the gem's effects - you will see the penetration in your character sheet if you press C and then click on your Ancestral Warchief skill. Then again, it may not show up, because tooltip is bad at keeping track of certain things. I think in this case it will show up.

Thanks, yup, I forgot to check the detailed offensive page for AW - it does indeed appear there.

I can think of one other area that AW doesn't inherit "your" stats, which is weapon range. I don't think AW is affected by melee weapon range modifiers, like from ATziri's Disfavour and Master of the Arena notable. Is that right?

Thanks again for your help.

That's right, and I haven't the slightest idea why. Theoretically, as best as I can understand it, AW should use your Weapon Range to determine where the center of the AoE Attack is... but it doesn't.

raics' recent tests on the subject, in case you were wondering what does and doesn't affect AW/AP range/AoE

Most AoE effects don't use Weapon Range in any shape or form.

Yes, but you know what I'm getting at. The skill functions wrong, it should be something like molten strike, you attack a spot or an enemy and you get an AoE on that point with weapon range determining how close you have to be.

I see no reason why AoE radius should have anything to do with the distance to AoE center, I don't think any other skill in the game works that way.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

Yeah, it doesn't make any sense for the Warchief to function that way. It's (part of) why they're so incredibly strong, they can hit at a huge range with a massive fuck-off radius.
I wasn't commenting about Warchiefs :P

Seems a strange thread to post in about it then ;)
Face it, all of your suggestions are worse than this idea:
