Non-Ranged/Caster, Non-Support Guardian builds?

Does anyone have any experience with one? I've been trying to think of one that is melee, probably using Static Strike or Ice Crash since I used EQ a ton the past couple months and would like a different flavor to it. Also because the Templar has access to nodes that I think would help those. I don't have any specific tree in mind yet since it would vary depending on the skills, I just like the idea of gaining Armor and ES from reserving Life and Mana and would like to build a character as tough as the artwork looks.
