Melee has always had it rough in this game. If you play melee it's because you enjoy it and it's rewarding, not because you're a kid that wants to shoot shit from across the screen without even seeing it. Plus we quickly pick up loot that drops ;)

Armour? Auras? Block? Nahhhh

Kaoms + Acro all the way. Large life pool + Acro with good flask management is king. I'll be doing the bosses after the patch when I have time, and I'll report back ;) Even any regular kaoms for an ex or two is great.

Never really tried kaom's/an armour based char + acro. Sounds pretty interesting. What do you do mitigate the incoming phys dmg?

Though, I need to note that it's kinda easy to say that you don't need Auras, block and all that kind of stuff when u're just smashing bosses with a lvl 100 char + legacy kaoms and a nice axe ;).


Hey! I wasn't wearing a chest in two of those vids ;) it's all good. I never die to phys, the only time you die is to elemental, or if you just keep repeatedly swinging on a phys reflect mob over and over. The difference between lvl 94 and lvl 100 is just a couple jewel slots really. And the difference betwen leg kaoms and reg kaoms is about 1.4k. Obviously 1.4k more life is amazing, but dealing with a life pool of ~8k in league with acro is still very nice :)

well, I don't understand why people think they are so confident about melee, without endgame HC hardcore experience... Posting only "EQ melee"&Jugg viable ideas.

Last league was terrible for me - it was so soul crushing then my ingame friends made triple size exp, loot , and clear speed playing ranged chars while I was so proud not to die and survive volatile blood in red maps.

Well, This is 6th solid Thread about melee, if GGG wouldn't do anything again, I'm done.

The video of new bosses on old maps... gotta say it's very interesting, but melee is just going to get supremely WRECKED even before getting to t15+ bosses.

I'm honestly not sure what could even be there to make gameplay more viable for melee that won't make it consecutively easier for other archetypes.

No matter what, endgame damage ramps up so high that piling up any sort of defense won't help.
Ultimately, a class that can do damage from distance will be always better than one that does not. Now there is a hilarious situation where melee ought to have lots of ranged and aoe skills to stay updated to all the current needs.

Having to click on target and then click away to retreat, this is not helping either.

Melee nodes 2h/1h/sword/axe/mace...gives 1% increased health/dmg reduction. As a melee you take some of these,10-15-20 depending on build i guess. Ranged chars will screw themselves if they pick up these i guess.

Or just roll Jugg.

We will see however,im pretty sure these bosses won't be as scary as they seem,most will probably drop in 1-2 sec.
do you think raider 1h/shield with 7k hp and acro / phase could do something on 2.4?
