FullBlownDaddy's FBDAtHisBest (Vortex In Progress)

Hey, FullBlownDaddy here. The following is a vortex build focusing on the DOT portion, the build is complete by lvl 70 and here is the skill tree.

FBD will be going inquisitor for the survival bonus (desecrate bonuses and 10% life regen while on it) and best damage passives available for a skill like Vortex's DOT through Augury of Penitence (and 70% spell dmg through conditional passives). 8th ascendency point will be going for pious path.

Auras will be Ele weakness on blasphemy, discipline, and arctic armor. You can drop discipline for other aura like vitality, ele res aura, another curse if you use unique or decide to go for additional curse passive. Reduced mana reserved passives are close enough if you want to use heavier auras, this is only 90 points with alot of good passives well within reach.

Ideal weapon for the build would be a staff with +1 all gems and +2 cold gems, due to the progressively better scaling of Vortex's DOT damage through skill levels.

Ideal support set up would be Vortex/Empower/Controlled Destruction/Elemental Focus/Rapid Decay/(W/e you feel comfortable with faster cast, inc aoe, conc effect, etc.)

FBD boost dmg through a variety of multipliers including EE (Pyre Ring conversion) and inquisitors augury of penitence.

FBD is currently lvl 36 with the following items.
Spoiler

NOTE: Build is very possible through Scion or Shadow, but templar has the best passives for damage boosting.

Ash frost and storm is a terrible wheel. It is more efficient to spend those four points at the shadow start (42% elemental damage for 4 points rather than 40%) don't fall for this trap wheel!

Also I don't think this is a very efficient way to scale the damage of vortex simply because you're only scaling half of it and you go all the way to shadow just to get any dot nodes. elemental and cold damage nodes will scale the dot side of the skill even better than damage over time nodes because they are simply closer and more efficient and additionally scale the initial hit. I think you would simply get a lot more damage by dipping into the cold/spell damage around witch and dropping shadow and damage over time nodes altogether.

Hey, FullBlownDaddy here. Less duration support gem is prob better than rapid decay or could be 6th link.
