Who else plays with sub-30 fps in solo play?
I'm just curious how many others play with less than perfect framerates when playing solo, despite minimizing of all graphics settings. Personally, I usually maintain a framerate above 50 in combat if it weren't for spell effects, but my build centers around fire trap and lightning strike, both of which severely impact my performance and cause me to dip into the 30's and lower.
I'll be honest. The point of my asking this is to make me feel better about playing with poor framerates. I'm a stickler for silky smooth gameplay, but seeing as I'm stuck with my current computer for a while (a computer whose motherboard has a physical capacity of 2GB RAM.. yikes) I must endure it the best I can, because I love this game. The framerate is bothering me, but if I know there are a lot of others out there who are in a similar situation I think I will be more accepting of it. Please be honest though. If you're running PoE on a $2,000 computer don't tell me you get 15 fps just for my sake. To anyone at GGG who might happen to be reading this - Please, for the love of god, add an option to lower the quality of spell effects. I am fairly certain if I ran a ground slam or sweep marauder build that didn't use any advanced particle effects, I could maintain 50+ fps in combat at all times. Lightning Strike WRECKS my framerate, but it's also my favorite skill in the game. I don't care if the lightning on my screen looks like shit; I care more about my framerate. Give me the damned option! IGN: EmpathicAmoeba

I couldn't. I would get a headache after 10 minutes of playing.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

Mine has stayed at a steady 50-60, I use fire traps, firestorm and fireball.

Alright guys the purpose of this thread was to make me feel better about my unchangable situation, not the other way around.

Well, I do know that GGG is aware of certain textures causing undue strain on many systems (mainly ATI I think) and will surely do what they can after other high-priority issues have seen some love.

I didn't title the thread "post here if you get a perfect framerate".
You guys are making me sad :( I know that at least 80% of the players play with a constant 60 fps. I made this thread to hear from the people who don't. IGN: EmpathicAmoeba

I doubt anyone plays with a worse framerate than me. I get between 3-13 fps on the old laptop I use. I love PoE that much that I put up with it.
I'm saving for a better pc. I'll prolly be beside myself with joy once I get to play the game on a decent pc. Ascension tied to Lab is the worst thing GGG has done...apart from GGG's philosophy on Trading. Oh and Gambling Loot boxes. And selling out to tencent.
I used to love GGG. I supported to ensure GGG remained independent, now I just wish I could get my money back. -_- |

Thanks Chameleon <3
I know the feeling. When I finally get a new PC and run PoE on max settings and see those glorious shadows and high texture detail all at a silky smooth fps, I'll probably leap out of my couch with joy. I'm the same as you though. This game is just too good to not play, even if the performance isn't optimal. It's still worth it. IGN: EmpathicAmoeba

I am in a similiar situation, my computer is ancient. I build my characters around the least flashiest skill gems. Big fan of split arrow and cleave. =P
