Question on Cast-On-Death and Blasphemy

So Discharge is immediate and would benefit, Firestorm (my other Cast on Death component) is a projectile and does not benefit.

How about Ice Nova? Is this calculated immediately, or when it "hits" something? If Ice Nova does not work, is there any other spell (except discharge) that would do the job?
