[Not a bug] "unaffected by shocked ground" lies! -> still affected by shocked ground

This is not a bug. They do not make you immune to shocked ground (which would prevent the debuff being applied), they make you unaffected by shocked ground - the debuff is applied, at 0% effectiveness (effectively 100% reduced effect, unmodifiable by other effectiveness modifiers). This is correct behaviour.

oh, interesting! so this might be off topic, but mechanic wise I got a question:
since shock does not stack (anymore) and standing on shocked ground gives 0% effectiveness, does "unmodifiable by other effectiveness modifiers" mean shock applied from a monster hit is immediately overridden by the 0% effectiveness shock from standing shocked ground?
so standing on shocked ground with Brinerot whalers makes one "almost" immune to shock?

ty for your answers

No? shocked ground and shocked are 2 separate mechanics with the same end result.
Shock requres a hit to apply it to you character and it'll be there for the duration
Shocked ground effects your character only when you are in it

Same with burning ground burning you, and hits igniting you causing you to burn
This is incorrect (except for the last bit).

Burning Ground and Ignite are indeed different, hence the ground effect not being called "Ignited ground". However, Shocked Ground is a Shock (and Chilled Ground is a Chill).

The answer to PopeJo's question is that if you have a Shock from Shocked Ground, and a Shock from being hit by lightning damage, then only one of them is ever in effect at a given time - the one with the stronger effect. Thus if you have a 100% effectiveness Shock from damage, and a 0% effectiveness Shock from Shocked Ground, then the 100% one will be active, and the 0% one will be inactive.
