I actually like running the lab once or twice per difficulty, but like someone mentioned earlier the trials feel like a tutorial for the lab, and after you've cleared normal lab you clearly don't need the cruel and merciless tutorials.

I'm actually fine with cruel/merciless trials as they differ/increase in difficulty. My problem is that I have to do all of them for every toon. They should not be mandatory in order to do the lab after you have done them on one character.

I think the better way to go would be to make them less tutorial, and give intermediate rewards as a positive feedback.

Here is an article that describes the rationale for that kind of change:

Is this becasue Trials actually require to pay attention to game and you can't run like mindless zombie spamming aoe skills that obliterate entire screen?

Your playing the wrong game if you dont like one shotting screens

Well if you played Cruel, Merciless is pretty redundant as well. If you've played a Gorge, another Gorge is pretty redundant as well.

Let's see if I get this right. One shooting is good for ARPGs, traps are bad for ARPGs.

Got it.

maybe trials should give some instant reward for completing them.
