Damage effectiveness

So are support gems like added lightning only effected by this? or is spell damage on the tree included as well?

like if my skill tree has lets say 150% increased spell damage, is a skill with 50% damage effectiveness going to only give me half of that 150% and turn it into basically 75% added spell damage?

or as I said above, is only flat damage from support gems/auras effected by this?

Only flat added damage is effected by damage effectiveness, as the spells base damage is already adjusted accordingly. Damage effectiveness is primarily used to even out the gains from flat damage to all spells. % modifiers are unaffected by damage effectiveness.
