lol, ye. most of my leveling was done with searing bond and i still use it 50% of the time else there's no way to deal with moving mobs.
you can't start to use RF totem without inc AoE gem and a +2% fire res from your purity of fire.
at higher spell totem levels(lvl17 or lvl18) and with heavy investments in totem life, you can ditch purity of fire aura. it's obviously not recommended and your totem will die in about 4 seconds, but i had to put my survival first and for that i had to run discipline+vitality(in my defense, regular mobs usually died under those 4sec).

a SF idea here would be to somehow combine searing bond with RFtotems so that a searing bond beam would unite the RFtotems+user. OPieOP!

Edit: and for comparison sake - my searing bond tooltip DPS now is 8.1k with flame golem up and my RFtotem(at lvl18) seems to burn mobs at least 30% faster than it.
