Why did GGG create Greust?

It's a standard trope, our hero enters the tribal village and immediately earns the enmity of the local big fish. Then through courage and deeds our hero earns grudging respect, or the big fish tries to murder our hero in some dishonourable fashion. Usually this character dies after respect is earned or murder is attempted, but sadly Greust doubles as the weapons vendor so we're stuck with him :)

I liked him before, but his new lines make me want to deck him in the face.

OMG!! Now Greust will raise his spear to you. You don't want his spear in your face!!!


I only like him when he sells me a 6s for a trans orb.

I started playing around the time Guardians of the Galaxies came out and for some reason when he speaks and introduces himself it sounds like 'i am Groot'.
