Reconsider keeping all Eternal Orbs active

While I welcome the change of the Eternal Orb removal, the biggest issue are existing Eternal Orbs.

Given the fact of old dupe exploits that currency doesn't have IDs and the increasing RMT value of Eternal Orb you should reconsider to keep them active because Eternal Orbs still can be used on the new Act 4 weapons.


So suggested changes would be:

1.) Make them unusable on new base items

2.) Make them unusable till they receive a new function, similar to the Lightning Ball gem, that has been introduced without function.

3.) Change the function how imprinting works(like a chance to destroy the original Item instead of imprinting it)

The reason behind this is simple the same as in Diablo 2 pre 1.06 where Rares could spawn with incredibly powerful mods or 1.08 where armor/jewel crafted items could in theory become more powerful than all possible rarers.
People will avoid Standard and HC Leagues because there are so many legacy items.

The eternal orb literally became the SoJ of Path of Exile.(It was simple to farm SoJ pre 1.06 and players had characters with many SoJ and the duping of SoJ was one thing ruining the early LoD Phase.

if it's possible this makes sense! However standard economy is fucked anyway, so i wouldn't mid a new permanent standard league at this point or a wipe - but that would go against GGG's principles

unlike the removal of the hybrid master mod , this change doesn't really bother me at all

Standard economy is fucked anyways.
If GGG made an expasion, where "decent items" (worth few exa) items match stat-wise BiS possible items from "vanilla", then, it's essentially a "removal" of all legacy shit the economy is filled with. In most MMORPG's developers do such things.

But in Awakening, "decent items" will be still no match for BiS "vanilla" items, so harm is already done, and to solve a problem, we need a new fresh league.

This is actually what LoD did to many items aside from Amulets,Rings Belts and Boots.


D2 got heavily hit by the 1.06 Patch.
Before the Patch a SoJ was common like an Alchemy Orb after 1.06 it was rare like a Divine Orb.

Lod Items were so different that people paid 40 SoJ for a Tals Mask because it had 10%
Dualleech Life, Mana and Resists

There are only a few Uniques here you actually want and those are too rare.


Sure "Legacy League" economy is broken. But when a game is vulnerable to duping RMT shops will certainly make a fortune.

What about the people who take a break and start playing Standard/HC for a bit?
They will be driven out.

Imo freezing Eternals should be the best solution because they could make a return in a different less broken form.

ETs should remain ingame but the problem lies deeply in Mirrors not ET. If there is no mirrors you cant create a bank service to farm indefinent currency by "legit duping" with mirrors and earn on service.

If you want to spend curr on et ex 6x t1 you should be able to, but without idenfinently creating money out of it. You have your item, you either use it or sell it.
In a month when you get bored of happy, come back and play challenging.
