Does "normal" critical chance affect spells? or just the spell critical chance?

In that case why is it that in some cases some items have specific description as 'XXX GLOBAL critical chance'?

So you don't confuse it with weapon critical chance, that works in a different way.
Weapon Crit multiplies the base crit chance before the global ones, so if you have 100% weapon and 100% global on a 5% crit chance weapon you will end with 20% crit chance (5*2*2) instead of 15% (5*3) | |
