Vagan dagger crafting question

If i augment & then alterationn it, could it loose vagan prefix?
And is vagan thing a prefix or a suffix? |

If you alt it, you lose the vagan's prefix.
So what you do usually, is just regal the damn thing and hope for the best |

Vagan's is a prefix. It will be lost if you use an orb of alteration, but you can augment and/or regal it.

Regal right off bat. if you get a suffex other than IAS or CC its bad but still sells for 1-2ex
