How to use cloak of defiance?

I mean,I just dropped it and it's 30% damage reduction sounds beautiful...But the only way I see actually to use it effectively is taking Eldritch Battery,and I didn't want to sacrifice my energy shield...Is there some way to sustain hatred+clarity+arctic armour whitout EB? (yes I have reduced mana and plan to take some reduced mana reservation nodes)

If you want to use it, you REALLY have to take EB. No way around it.

Well for now I will take it,maybe in the future,if I get a bigger mana pool/more regen I will just respec,ES is nice but the 30% reduction is better,thanks for the advice
