Here's my 'Overgrown Island Forest', using the tier-3 Haku Coastal Hideout. It's not finished, I'll probably always tinker with it, but the core elements are in place so I'm ready to share it.

While I was creating this place I was pleased to find that the tall trees could block out the sun and cast large shadows over a huge area. This inspired me to use lots of large trees to create a shadowy forest. For most of the trees I payed attention to where their shadows would go, and placed them in specific spots, so often it's less random than it might appear.

Damn man, this is really nice. Very intricate, you clearly put a lot of effort into this. I really like seeing how you and how other have used the rocks to kind of terraform hideouts. It adds a lot of depth to your design. Definitely keep the shadows, helps with the overgrown type of feel you want.
