Synergy

I wanna ask something

There's any kind of synergy in this game like the ones from D2 Eastern Sun?

The closest thing I have read is that you can give skills different characteristics through socketing gems in link with them.

Doesn't seem to be any synergy system. The Active skills are completely separate from each other. The passives are 1 point skills. The support gems do exactly what they say.

If you have played Final Fantasy 7 and 10 you might be familiar with the systems a little bit. I think it was 10 , never actually played it.

Havent played estern sun nor poe yet i cant say for sure but if u're refering to the same synergy the original d2 have (harpoints put on x skill gives % dmg on another and such)no i believe it doesnt have.

So, are there synergies or not in PoE?

In looking at some items, Ive noticed that any color slots can be "linked". What good does it do to link two red gems, or two green ones? Isn't it only useful to connect certain gems such as attack gems with support gems etc?

Anyone know?
