Issue with Return the Karui Spirit Mission

Encountered it in a map last night before bed and i noticed that the spirit stops following you if you use whirling blades to travel. I had to go back and click him again.

Also there were rocks falling from the rafters which 1 shot me (maybe overtuned?)

But my main issue is the whirling blades thing.
