Grim Dawn is actually better than PoE

1: You can also buy the game on the main website which will include a DRM free key of the game on release as well as a Steam key that you can use immediately. This means that you can then play the game offline if you wish (when you get the DRM free key) - although you can do so with Steam as well when it comes to going offline as the game only needs to be online for updates or online multiplayer (there is lan mp).

2: There will be an Act 4 as it has been confirmed.

"The new act will feature an extension of the story, more quests, frozen mountain passes, alpine valleys, a sprawling fort, burning battlegrounds, necropolis, catacombs and the chthonic void!"
-Kickstarter Update

There is a still quite a bit content/work to be done for the game although what is already there is quite good.

It's based on personal preference. I love PoE and still can't wait to play Grim Dawn.

EDIT: and Umbra ...
I like many kinds of games 😊

I bought it, and tried to play. But I didnt really understand the game, I picked the soldier class but it just felt like I had default attack the whole time I played & no skills, then it sent me upon the first boss and I could barely scratch him

Also I ran out of potions and constitution rather quickly and there is no vendor that I ever found, not sure what I was meant to do...

I love both those are indeed the good sides of grim dawn some things that i dont like about it is that development is very slow and the level cap is only 40, making the game worth playing only until you finish all the quests(you get 40 by then) which is only a few hours really. But if they keep sticking to it and doing as good as they did it whould end up great in a few years when its finished lol

the game is very similar to titan quest if you played that one, you get skills from the passive tree like cadance from soldier is a good attack to replace your default, you can upgrade this attack and respec points at an time, buy you can not respec the points you put in the class bar thingy. Then at level 14 you get to pick another class, i use soldier+nightblade and i put mostly points in nightblade since i like dual wielding.

Vendors are in town you find some on the way to save and they go to town, to get to town and vendor stuff you click on the red thingy under the enegry bar, it opens a TP, you basically have free tps and everything is already identified as it drops which i think is very nice.

if you need help with the game, a build or something just send me a PM dude

too bad thats a MMORPG and not an arpg

and thats a very objective statement in any case, i personally can not play any mmorpg because it seems like the most tedious and boring thing ever all quests are the same, fighting is shit in all of them, just real time combined with cooldowns on every skill and massive toolbars, there is no story etc

Well, there's your problem. lol
Speaking seriously, it's not an easy game, nor one to hold your hand. It's not as complicated as PoE, but is quite complex. There are different mechanics of what you are used to, different rules, different itemization and affixes, different approach in char progression, etc.

If you want to get better, you'll have to read. The wiki, sometimes the forum. Doing the same you did while learning PoE before you got used to it. And practice, ofc.

Knowledge in TQ helps a lot, as mechanics are similar, but it appear you didn't play it.

Also mind this game is quite different than PoE in many aspects, though both share the same genre.

On your struggle with the game - I don't recommend you soldier as a first char. Pick ranged ;)

Or you may not play it at all, if you didn't like it and it doesn't suit you, nothing wrong.

The development team from Crate is much smaller compare to GGG's team, so they got a lot work cut out. Crate started out with two full timers, and a couple of part timers until kickstarter 2012 (April-May), and with that fund, they got enough to hire more full timers (maybe promote the old part timers to full) and part timers. The development started to speed up after kickstarter succeeded. Hell, from then on until today, they actually added more content to the game then it was originally planned.

Supposedly, Grim Dawn should be done before the year ends with Faction update being in late April, Act 3 chapter 3 update around late May or June. The remaining updates will probably be tagged as one GIANT update at full release (act 4, and other surprising contents that Crate might add), and I think it may be released by August/September.

The level cap at full release is supposed to be level 75, and legendary items start dropping at level 50. Then of course, there is Devotions which are still not fully implemented into the game, but it was kinda revealed during an interview two days ago from mmorpg

"I was also told a little about a new system they are integrating into the game in the future, called Devotions. Devotions are essentially another level of character development that will give the character access to a vast array of constellations that will in turn grant the player new augmentations and celestial powers. Devotions are unlocked by finding ruined or corrupted shrines scattered throughout the game world, and returning them to their former glory. Ruined Shrines must be restored by finding rare materials in the world, and Corrupted Shrines can be purified by defeating the corrupting power hidden within the Shrine. "

So there is still more stuff to be added to the game.

Also, there was an interview from PAX East on Arthur Bruno just a couple of days ago, and just a brief part of the interview mentioning (@ 1:52 of video) they are looking into adding a sixth class. Though, my thoughts on that, it would be awesome, but I am not sure it will be added in full game unless they plan to delay full release more. Mostly likely in the expansion, they will add a sixth class along with another act.

Sometimes you can take the game out of the garage but you can't take the garage out of the game.

Well thats very good news, i didnt know they were that close to finishing it, so basically its going to be fully released in 2016. Those devotions sound a lot like the paragon system in diablo 3, pretty cool

That's not true.

Action Role Playing Game. ARPG

Wow and other standard mmo's are action focused RPG games.

So, for the most part mmo's are arpg's whereas only some arpg's are mmo's.
