what does "self contained economy" mean?

The question is in reference to the info posted about the new 4 month challenge leagues.

Just like previous leagues, you wont be able to import items from outside the league. That makes their economy "self-contained". It's nothing new. It has nothing to do with self-found play. The "self" is a reference to the league... not to the players.

The standard economy affects the temporary ones due to specualation of how much an item is worth once it goes to standard. I'm sure that some do, and if anyone does, it affects the value of an item.
But that's not what they mean by self-contained. It doesn't mean that it's not influenced by outside forces. It means that the items in it are generated within it. |
