Troll... An interesting verb.

First let me say that trolling is an art... It is an art that some have mastered. There is really no hidden agenda or purpose to trolling but everyone should have an understanding of how just interesting, humorous and entertaining it can be, especially when the forums are devoid of fun and as expressed before entertainment.

First a troller has to choose a target... It can be something as complicated as going after a developer, extemely rare... or as simple as going after a player base. Here is a great example of going after elitists. First this troller ;P set the mood... In this example Rift forums have been trolled...

A previous post stated, "There are some horrible guides and will bring wow players to help." Well this ticked off many game builders in rift... The thread was eventually deleted, so the troller created a build called, "The Scrapper Rogue."

As a troller their job is to follow the guidelines to a tee... Must NEVER admit you are a troller. This thread I just happened to come across... cough... was so entertaining I thought I share it with the rest of you.

In the end we need trollers... They destroy the monotony of life and really expel the true nature of players. We all have our demons...

Trolling is perfectly fine if it's done in good taste and not meant to harm anyone.

Hasn't most trolling just became : Oops I said something really stupid and people are calling me stupid because of it. I know ill just say I was trolling and got them good!

I enjoy a good troll though when I see one. However most of the time its just people swearing and saying obnoxious stuff to try get people mad.

This is how it all started:

I don't know where to start... I'll just say it, the game is more frustrating than fun. The game is extremely good looking, but that does not overshadow the fact that there is absolutely no variety when in comes to skills. In addition to the lack of variety of skills they are horrible to look at.

I have to give my hat off to the amazing detail in characters and whomever designed the settings we are placed in. My only complaint would be the little girls... I find no reason to play with little girls who's panties show. It's completely weird and awkward. I don't care what anyone says, I am a psychology major there is no reason for adults to playing as little girls, period. Whoever decided this was a good idea please call me, message me in game and I can give you a session rather lesson on common sense and decency.

If you are a feminist, masochist etc... You may find the other races especially the elves to be overly sexualized... If that's even a word. Neologism anyone? Most likely tick you off...

Setting that aside I am sure there is a major complaint about this somewhere... I digress. My biggest issue with this game is there is absolutely no enjoyment. I started to notice it's the same routine, unfortunately this game has a hard time hiding the monotony of killing x etc... It's plain laziness on whoever designed the quests. For example, in some lumber area you have to combine salt with the meat. I was shocked all you had to do was click on the meat in your inventory because the salt is already in your inventory... LOL. Pure laziness in quest designing.

Another example, one of the early quests you have to kill a tree who is bullying the pigs... I was hoping for an entertaining fight. Nope, all you had to do was the same routine dodge, avoid... Pew pew away. When finally reaching 10 you get to solo a dungeon accompanied by a healer... When you see the presentation of the boss you say to yourself, "wow this is gonna be hard." Once again... nope. Just dodge, avoid... Pew pew away. Its a failed monster hunter attempt... Perhaps the development team should have contacted Capcom on how to properly make a monster hunter game.

They say the game gets better after level 20, but if I know if anything to be true reading the chat says a lot. One person for the past hour yelling, "raid need all." A few others asking for healers... I honestly do not want to go an hour without find a healer and amazingly there are plenty of tanks... Hmmmm I wonder why. Very simple, you can't really switch to dps as a healer vice versa with any other class. This is where the lack of variety comes.

Well I know I have been harsh but a free 7 day mount extra exp is not going to keep me play. I already uninstalled and moving on. I hope everyone takes this with a grain of salt, fml for spending time with this game... Even so a lesson well learned. The best way I can describe this game...

I try and be respectful to everyone both in real life and on the internet. However, the inevitable happens and someone shows their ass and I lose respect for them. There are a couple people here that are in that category. I won't mention names, out of what little respect I have for them.

While I have my doubts about you being a psychology major, let's look at it, you brought it up to sound more knowledgeable on the subject? You're not. So even if you are a psychology major, that's just it, you're still going to school on it, so you know nothing. :p

Now, if you have a problem with that, I have to ask, what ever made you try TERA in the first place? Overly sexualized is supposed to be part of the games appeal. :p

As for the early game. Level 1 to 10 is a tutorial (one that is quicker than it used to be). Why that first instance gives you a priest and why it's easy.

You're right, normal questing isn't really that hard. BAM can sometimes be quite easy and basically be a game of running in circles. Dungeons as the levels go, can get a lot more difficult.

I'd say with your post your mind was set on the game the second you started downloading it. :p

I cannot fathom such an immense dislike of a game you didn't even really try. It takes all of an hour at most to hit level 10 so that you can continue with your leveling experience. The beginning bosses are easy simply because there's a chance that new players might be new to MMOs in general, and in that respect, not know what to do.

As for reading chat - I suppose that's something else you have to take into context. It's not that it takes hours upon hours to find healers/dps/tanks, but it does take time to find good ones. And most raids require 10 people - thereby extending the length of time it will take to find enough decent people.

Don't like the Elin race? Don't play them. I imagine there are plenty of people that play them for their 'little girl' physique, but there are others that play them for their lore (what a shock! This is an MMORPG after all), or reasons of their own.

Anyway, I digress. There's not much anyone can say to persuade your evident bias, nor will anyone bother. Take your 'psychology major' and overabundant use of ellipsis and move on. I wish you the best of luck finding a game that is up to your standards.
