Chance to inite + crit chance

I have 2 ways, how to calculate global chance to ignite, but dont know, which is right ( if any).

Example: 45% chance to ignite and 30% crit chance.

1st would be simple 45% + 30% = 75% global chance to ignite.
2nd would be 55%*70% = 38,5%, therefore 61,5% global chance to ignite (i tend to this one).

Can anybody clarify plz? :)

Seeing as they are separate events you calculate them with P(crit)*P(chance to ignite). P() being the probability of the event.

So your 2nd calculation is right imo.

2nd one indeed

wrong, one spell can either crit or not, but chance to ignite for the same spell rolls for each enemy, so with Ele prolif you only need to ignite one.

right

T = total chance
I = chance ignite = 0,3 (30%)
C = chance crit = 0,45 (45%)

T = 1 - (1 - C) * (1 - I) = 0,615 (61,5%)
