I was worried that I was wasting my time on the forums and stuff for a beta key.

I now have a level 9 Marauder and i am already SO impressed with the game play.

For any game, this one is good. For a F2P it is AMAZING.

well its a good game, nothing extremely grounbreaking, but not a blatant rip off either - there are many things never before seen in hack and slash genre.

i dont know... i guess im not the best person to talk about hype - it just doesnt really affect me.

In the business world, what we call this marketing tactic is an Over-exemplified product!

What that means is, that like you spoke about, the "hype" of the game increases to an almost supernatural level.

The fans are pumped, excited, crazed and enthusiastic about the game's release. Everything seems to be in motion for a great release!

On the contrary, what actually happens is what we call a negative plunge of consumers.

Due to all the attention and UNREALISTIC EXPECTATIONS, the game is raised above all practical expectations, and the consumers assume that their anticipation for the game will be fed a constant diet of endorphins.

Think of it like this... A fat piece of shit needs to eat his 20 donuts a day to get his fat ass fix. Well, a new bakery opened up down the street. This bakery is offering even tastier donuts for the fat piece of shit! The only problem is, that these donuts are 2x as expensive as the fat piece of shit can afford... After weeks and weeks of waiting for the new bakery to open, it finally does! Wooo! Now, after a few days of indulgence, the fat piece of shit realizes that not only can he not get his fix of 20 donuts from this new bakery (due to finances), this fat fucker hears that his original donut shop has closed down!

This fat piece of shit is heart broken. He cannot get his donuts that fulfilled him, now he's stuck with these new donuts that had his hopes up, but didn't produce the donuts he wanted. Now he's screwed and doesn't even want to eat donuts anymore.

This same little anecdote applies to the unreasonable level of expectation that the waiting fan base places on the game.
It's very dangerous. It's like a pornstar compared to some chick at the local swimming pool.

You get your hopes up for something AMAZING, and it turns out to be a GREAT game, but for some reason, it just isn't what you had in mind.

Typical problem, and I'm afraid that it's a pretty amateur mistake that this gaming company is making.

what ? u think they will read this and say.oh the guy is right lets give everyone a beta key so we dont take this risk ? its not something they can avoid thats my opinion but i'll respect yours.
