what a way to wake up

Got up this morning and found several new icons on my desktop.

Fired up the internet and BOOM! Spam everywhere. Nothing like spending time before work getting rid of all the malware and spyware that wasn't there when I last used the computer.

I'm going to blame Facebook. I know my spouse was using it when I went to bed.
Do you use no Security Software at all? :P

I browse porn sites all day and visit otherwise questionable sites aswell and don't have those issues.
Of course I use antivirus software, but these are spyware programs meant to hyjack the internet to sell you shit. No real harm to the computer so the antivirus ignores them.

Also it takes someone to click on the first one to open the door for the rest. I assume my spouse had to watch an ad to get more coins or something and yeah! Our computer is loaded up with shit.

Already had adblock. This isn't the first time this has happened, but never to this degree.

I'm pretty sure they get in through the Facebook games my spouse plays. I am paranoid when it comes to agreeing to anything on the web.

A check of the offending parties is a who's who of spammers. Using the remove program function only removes the shell. Pretty fucking sneaky.

Thinking next time I'll sue the companies in small claims court and hope they don't show so I can place liens on their equipment. Might take a long time, but time is on my side.

(This would only work with domestic companies, but whatever.)
The missus and I have learned the hard way.

Always click no.

And uncheck any box that comes prechecked.

One more reason im glad not to have a facebook account.

Have a cookie for your troubles though. ;)
Unless she used apps through fb its not fb's fault. I use fb and its never put any spam on my PC. If she clicked on an advert on there though maybe

Edit: Reminded me, a few months back my cousin bought himself a Volvo S60R 70000$ish.

His GF borrowed it and topped up the oil, only she used the wrong kind and put way too much without checking the dipstick. An hour later, on the highway, a piston shot right out've the engine block and through the hood.. The engine was a complete write off.

Shes no longer his GF.
Don't forget to drink your milk 👌
