Music which makes you cry like a bitch!

TL;DR-Haiku
Arousing music
Tears flowing like autumn rain
Post more please

We all certainly have some. Whether the music doing the job all alone or being a catalyst in a emotional situation, sometimes the tunes go deep into the very fabric of your tearing station, resulting in salt flown.

In this thread I merely want to collect songs which get me all wound up. Present and future ones alike, I'll just bookmark this thread and will always have it at hand to revisit some of those songs.

Feel free to add your own ones in here, also explaining why the music might have hit you so deep. Sometimes the reasons can't be comprehended by oneself appropriately, being a combination of many factors which makes one person up. But give it your best try!

One song which still jumps me sometimes is this one I shared some time ago already, I think:

Scrolls - Deckbuilders Theme:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xR8nsouZfxk

I have a hard time explaining why this one teared me up. I don't know if it was due to specific past events or other soundtracks I remembered unconsciously because of it. I only know that specifically the last 30 seconds get me all aroused in too many emotions to comprehend.

It's worth a note that those last 30 seconds are only effective on me if I hear the the other 2 minutes before. Maybe it's the slow build-up with the huge climax and a bad end overall? It might explain why the music is not nearly as effective in the loop being played in the game itself.

Stay tuned, guys!

Three from me. It's interesting how related these are, and yet they hit for me three very different reasons. I don't cry 'like a bitch' -- I just sort of get stunned and, if I'm not careful, I get taken back to a place where I *did* cry like a bitch.

Deliver Us -- Prince of Egypt

Firstly, best 2D animated movie ever? Absolutely. Saw it with the then-wife (devout Christian, in her own personal, church-eschewing way) and I remember just how much this opening affected me. Sure, it's affected and dramatic, but this happened, one way or another.

Secondly, it reminds me of the Red Sea parting scene, which to this day, with its combination of amazing animation and Hans Zimmer's music, makes my eyes water.

Lastly, it features Ofra Haza, who was basically Israel's version of Madonna, took second place in the '83 Eurovision for a song about her parents and grandparents being 'alive' (which she sang live *in Germany*, think about the significance of that one!) and died not long after Prince of Egypt to AIDS. The real kicker? She lived ridiculously clean: it was a bad blood transfusion following a miscarriage.

Schindler's List theme -- John Williams (performed by Itzhak Perlman live)

Certain movies are just designed to fuck you up. Grave of the Fireflies would be by number one there, but Schindler's List is a close second. I haven't been able to rewatch either since that first time.

And while I typically do not like praising Williams, who lifts from poor old Dvorak liberally to this day, this theme is one of his greatest original works.

It's impossible for me to hear this and not remember a) a certain scene in Schindler's List involving darkness, cries and the possibility of a shower and b) my visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau in 2008, which didn't make me cry because it was just too enormous, too surreal. As an outsider, a child of privilege, you don't feel like you have the right to cry. Music like this from a movie like Schindler's List gives you that temporary excuse, I guess.

Sunrise, Sunset -- Fiddler On The Roof

I'd seen the movie a few times but only ever remembered the fun song "Tradition". A few years back, my grandmother passed away after what can best be described as a prolonged battle with osteoarthritis and emphysema (that poor generation), and I was her primary carer. Anyway, when it happened, her emotionally crippled daughter chose this song to accompany the slide-show I'd prepared for the funeral.

Yeah, I can't even listen to ten seconds of this one.

Warhammer 40k Inquisitor: where shotgunning is not only not nerfed, it is deeply encouraged.

Dogma > Souls, but they're masterworks all. You can't go wrong.

I was right about PoE2 needing to be a separate, new game. It was really obvious.
there is music which gives me a fucking harrowing feeling inside, like Saint Vitus which is one of my favorite bands.

Never had any that makes me cry, but the closest was this

I put a very extensive playlist up on the Off Topic forum. Is it ok if I link it here? It's all good music, mostly rock but a mix of a bunch of other stuff. Most of the songs have their own spoilers, too.
You could start a new post and link it there. This thread is asking a specific question and we should respect that. For a change.

(Despite the poor quality, I prefer this version)

Also, if you remember the choirs from The Thin Red Line :

Entire "OK Computer" LP by Radiohead. Good suicide music.

Mel Gibson is your daddy... and, you don't really want to know what he does.
