New to the game anything i should know?

You will desync evry time you use a skill that makes you move faster, attack faster or cast faster. The only skils that don't desync are auras.
Like Diablo 3 after you beat the game there is endless farming for meaningless pixels that progressively get harder or more expensive to obtain until you hit the highest possible statistical amount of power per item.

Also learn to farm effectively.

Jump in a play for a while. Just play. Don't max/min. Don't set long term goals. Just goof off for a week or so. Then you will have a basis for understanding advice given to you.

The only real "noob" advice that you need is that there's some items that are extremely rare and valued by the community that can drop at any level or at any time. Don't trade these away or use them haphazardly. In particular, the three orbs: Exalted, Eternal, and Mirror. Others you can use in moderation and not regret it later.

+1

and don't underestimate the importance of outfitting gear with "increased rarity".

it makes a big difference over time...

don't sacrifice your survival with it, but keep an eye out for adding 10% here and there.

Most valueable combat stat is max life. not armor or evasion. You will need shitloads of life.

Item mods (+X life) are cumulative with pasive tree nods (% increased life). So on average you look for %200+ increased life from passive tree around lvl 80. make your skilldrasill planning based on that. Otherwise you will get one shot everytime a white rhoa sneezes.
Don't play melee on your first, second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth characters. Playing melee without good gear will get you acquainted with the less "pleasant" aspects of the game sooner (The Great Desynch).
Play caster/archer/trapper instead.
Trappers are especially good for new players or to simply start a season: little to no gear requirement and good versatility.

If for whatever reason you go in the trade chat: NEVER trade for orbs vs orbs. You are 99% sure to get scammed.
Don't be afraid to play in public parties.
Don't identify blue item.
Don't feel compelled to identify every yellow item.
Don't use jeweller/fuse/chaos orbs until you are at least lvl 40. At this point you may want to use a very few chaos on a chest with good sockets and links.
Don't use exalted/regal/eternal orb. Ever.
Do use some alchemy orbs if you find a white item with good sockets and links for you.
In act 3, the female merchant you rescue can sell you some orbs. The ratio she uses will give you an idea of what value each "low" orb has.

If you are close to some life nodes in the passive skill tree (1 or 2 nodes away from where you are), you must get them.
I'd also suggest playing HC while you're new. It's like getting thrown in the deep end without knowing how to swim but you will learn really fast what works and what doesn't.
No shavs for you yet. At least forget about it until next year.
