Accidentally deleting a character/items,

Well I was really eager in making a new character and I have all the slots filled already so I deleted the lowest level one without thinking about which items I had on the guy. I just remembered I had a searing touch on that character. Is there any way to get this item back?

Pretty sure you are out of luck. Last I remember, they don't keep character back ups. So like if you got hacked and they deleted everything you had, you would be back to square one.

How would people learn if they even could restore characters?

" Dead characters and deleted characters are two different subjects. Also you're example is not about learning, carrion queen was a bug and players are affected from this without their control. In the other hand, deleting wrong character is a mistake and a person can learn something from that. No longer a forum dweller, please use PM for contact purposes.
