As the world’s leading AIDS researchers gather for the International AIDS Conference in Washington, D.C., scientists report that despite gains in controlling the spread of HIV, the disease has continued to spread at an alarming rate in the very population in which it first appeared — gay men.

I demand a recount.
Except the population group in wich it first appeared was african hunters / bushmen, and not connected to homosexuality in any way. WHO KNEW.

Oh wait, you are certainly aware of this already. Are you giving probation baiting a go, perchance?

This article is a legit article and it was not removed from that other thread, i don't see why you are talking about probation.

There's is little legitimacy about an article whos author can't be buggered to research the subjet matter.

The little snippet I'm referring to is as false as claiming the moon is made of cheese. Pro journalism right there.

Sadly, it's the kind of mistake that morally... questionable... individuals would use to fuel their propaganda wich is what we seem to have here.

Spoiler
...this your idea of fun? I get that fun has a connection to being cheerful, wich is a synonym for gay wich can also mean something else, but this is pushing it.

Just chillax dude, it's just an article.

Also propaganda or not you should respect scientific studies.

Me and you can agree on something, at least :
Science is cool,
oh 2 things,
poe is cool.

Do you actually read your own links before you post them? The absurd, easily disproven unilateral claim made by the author that HIV first appeared in the gay population isn't part of any scientific study, it was just a throwaway jab made by the person who wrote the article, he doesn't attribute it to anything or provide any sort of source for that statement.

Plenty of scientific studies were undertaken to find the origins of HIV and AIDS, and surprise surprise, no one with any credibility has ever claimed it just magically started appearing in gay people. The origins of the first cases can be traced back to somewhere between Cameroon and the Congo. The strains were almost identical to a virus carried by apes that were often hunted and eaten as bush meat in the region.

I love a good bit of propaganda every now and then, but you can't just completely make it up as you go along and expect people to take it seriously.

I laughed.

Does this make me a bad person?
When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted.
