Dealing no damage

I'm currently at a point in the game where, no matter what area I'm in, all my skills/attacks do no damage. I spent a minute shooting an enemy point blank and no damage at all. Any possible reasons behind this?

Do you have the 'Ancestral Bond' passive which gives you +1 Totem but removes your characters capability to directly deal damage?
