'Corrupted blood' debuff.

Well, i have to say, this thing is ruining my game as a witch.
Basically when i meat a mob with this mod - it's a death sentence for my toon 90% of the time, especially when this mod is on some fast-moving object like, let's say a monkey or a snake.
It's not a poison, it's not an elemental damage, it's not a bleeding effect nor it's a curse, so i can't remove it using specialized flack.
As most 'mages' i can't regenerate my shield while taking damage (or even NOT taking, just having a potentially damaging debuff, poison for a CI toon, for instance).
In a pure theory i could come up with some life leach conversion to a ES, but it will require a large detour in a skill tree, besides it won't really help, so it's mostly will be a pointless exercise...

So, i'm in fact stuck with this toon, even thou it's equipment is quite good, build otherwise is quite reasonable (i've played since closed beta, so i have a pretty good idea how the game works)

In my opinion something should be done about this, cause for a witch with 5000 ES an encounter with any mob with this mod is an almost certain death. The debuff stacks up in seconds up to 20, and it kill me every time. In fact it's the only thing in the game that kills me no matter what i do.

On the other hand the rest of my toons just don't care about it, since they have insane life regen and/or life leach. But if you are playing a pure 'mage' - you're in trouble.

Honestly i don't know what to suggests, one thing when this was a unique debuff designed for Dominus, but when you are in some lvl 55-60 , and your lvl 84 mage just dies because some monkey ran to you... well it's just wrong.

So i have several ideas how to make it work.
First one would be to classify this debuff as, let's say, curse, so it would be removable
Another - severely reduce the speed with witch the debuff builds up (stacks up)
Third and most reasonable, probably, is to remove this crap from a list of 'nemesis' mods, since it's mechanics was not clearly thought out well. It does make sence when a slow moving hard tagret have some area DOT effect, but again when some roah, or monkey, or snake instanly closes up distance with you and you don't have any means whatsoever to counter it - it's wrong, guys.

And i have to mention again - it's an old player (actually veteran and old at the same time, hehe), i don't usually tend to whine. my gear is excellent, way way better that an average player would have.
But in this case even if i'll instantly double my ES it WON'T HELP.

By the way, if i'm already started... Guys you really need to separate buffs and debuffs.
Sometimes it's really important to instantly identify the very fact that you've been debuffed.
When you have 5-10 buff icons on the top-left side of the screen sometimes it's a hard thing to do.
So please think of putting the debuffs on the right-top side of the screen. it would really help, not with this particular issue (since it will kill me anyway) but with some other, less pressing ones.

P.S. Could anyone please tell me why the poison debuff prevents me from regenerating me ES, even thou i have immunity to chaos damage? Well, it's just don't make any sence ;)

Corrupted Blood is considered a bleed and all stacks of it are removed when you use a flask that removes bleeding.
Well, mate, it does not help ;)))
I'm not even sure that it's removing it, because this crap stacks up so fast that it doesn't really matter.
The 'decurse' flack is giving you 6 sec immunity from being cursed again, the 'bleeding' one does not.
And since the debuff is stacking up with incredible speed it will not save me anyway.
I tried 'remove bleeding' flacks and 'remove curse flack' since i was not sure what a heck it was, neither helped me to survive.

It's based on your attack speed, and corrupted blood is intended to be particularly difficult for high attack speed builds to fight. Not every build can easily handle every situation. Attack for a bit, fall back, use your anti-bleed flask and wait for your ES to recover and then strike again.
mate, i don't know what to say, i'm a fire mage, and cast incinerate 10 times per second.
but the time i even see that i have this debuff - i'm as good as dead, cause usually it's some small mob in the middle of a large group, and you can't expect an actually living person to spend the whole time reading the mods on the mobs (besides, try to point at a particular mob in the crowd, hehe)

I do understand what you're saying, but there is no way for me to survive such an encounter, period,
By all means, you could say that 'incinerate build' and let's say 'freezing pulse build' for that matter are unplaiable because of this issue. Ok, i agree with you, but is not it a problem?

Before the merging with nemesis league there was no issue. Now - there is.

And hey, my melees with similar attack speed (around 7-8 strikes per second) do not have any problems with anything.Neither have archers.

My usual pattern is 'put up a totem, advance, cast incinerate, maybe throw some traps if it's needed'
So by the time i even see the debuff on me i'm dead anyway....
Sure, i can change up the build, let's say - go for fireballs, become long-ranged specialist, but is not it a point of this particular game to give us means to create a custom character? It's not like i can't spec to a triple totem witch or a summoner ;))) I want to be able to play in the way i want, and rest assure it's a really effective and fun to play build

And i do agree with you - not every class and or build can be equally effective in handling of all kinds of situations possible in this game,

But i had 20+ lvl 80+ toons (thou i deleted most of them by no, leaving the ones i like most)
And it's a first time i have no idea how to handle the situation. I mean it - every time i meet a mob with this mod i die. period. It's not about effectiveness, it's about not being able to level up at all

If anything, I think there should just be some visual on the monster to denote that it has corrupting blood, since the most common complaint seems to be that people don't see it in time. Similar effects like reflect and lightning thorns have visuals.

I also wouldn't say that it makes certain characters unplayable - it's not exactly common. A monster has to be a rare, and then it has to be a nemesis rare, and then it has to be a corrupting blood nemesis rare. My incinerate character deals with corrupting blood fine but she's also very tanky. Do you mind posting your build/gear so I could maybe give more specific advice for dealing with it?
I'd like idea that remove bleeding flask should give immunity for a few seconds.
I'm currently playing a level 87 Incinerate witch. Other than Lightning Warp, Incinerate is my only damaging spell. I use Incinerate with Faster Casting. I use exactly 1 Staunching flask, with two uses from full. I don't have any problem with Corrupting Blood, because I actually think while I play. My character has died to the affix exactly once (more details on that later).

Since this appears to be a problem, here's my procedure for dealing with CB rares, so you can copy it.

0. Keep aware of rare affixes. You do need to treat CB rares differently than normal rares. If possible, you want to catch them before you incur any bleed stacks whatsoever. If you mess up and get too many bleed stacks, you may need to Staunch and then, if your Staunch flask is low, kill other monsters elsewhere to get your charges back up before you engage directly.
1. Double-check your flask setup and make sure you know exactly what button your Staunch flask is on. This might sound silly, but my only death to a CB rare ever on my Witch was because I was mistaken about which button to press to Staunch and could not figure out my error as I frantically lost what remained of my health. Failing to follow this step killed me once, and I try to avoid making the same mistake twice.
2. Control the area. Dealing with a CB rare should have a final result of a dead CB rare and you at low EHP (normally about 30%). As such, you need to control the situation so other things won't take you from 30% to 0%. If necessary, clear around the CB rare while avoiding hits on the CB rare directly.
3. Pick a spot to engage, and build Incinerate stacks without engaging. This means you're Incinerating empty air, usually in the direction directly opposite the CB rare, while it approaches you. You do not want to waste 0, 1, or 2 stack Incinerates on a CB rare; you want to use 3-stack Incinerates only. This gives you a much better damage-per-hit ratio. With practice you can get your timing down so that it reaches you at almost exactly the time you get up to 3 stacks, or that you're not Incinerating empty air (using the time to DPS non-CB enemies). Some inconsiderate monsters may force you to switch to them slightly before 3 stacks, but 2 is still better than 0.
4. Switch your stacked Incinerate onto the CB rare until either at very low life (20%) or the rare is dead. DO NOT STAUNCH YET. You will go up to 20 stacks in a hurry. This is fine, because you're also dealing massive damage; this entire step should only last about one second. Most rares don't survive long against a three-stack Incinerate; it'll be dying faster than you are.
5. When the rare is dead or you can't take any more, Staunch. Retreat then repeat if necessary.

With timing, this procedure my seem risky, but it's actually remarkably safe. As I've said before, used it a lot, only 1 death.

TL;DR: L2play, -1 to your suggestion.

This is very difficult enemies to deal with, so they must have a visual effect, like aura/glowing and flasks should give immunity to this debuff. For a specific amount of time, of course.
cb can be combated with high life leech and the only moments when this may not be working out well is when a rare mob has high physical damage (golems, devourers etc). the only cb effect that can get you killed in 3-4 secs despite your 20/20 life leech is in apex with three vaal temple bosses
