added cold, fire, lightnig damage from armors and jewels should apply to spells too

hey all,

just wanna start a discussion about those
added cold, fire, lightnig damage for "armors and jewels".

I think that these added damages should apply for spells as well.
like addad fire from armor should apply for "fire" spells
added cold for "cold" spells and so on.
these will give spell casters more option for choosing armors

one thing that I want to make it clear.
why "armors and jewels only" and why not weapons also?
well, this is because if you apply those added element damage
for weapons will break the game. for example.. Voltaxic Rift...
sure don't need to explain that.

what do you guys think?

I think you want the game to be easier. Just come out and say it.
could you explain why it will make the game easier?

It would drastically increase the base damage of the spell...?

My, that was some hard thinking.

On a serious note, the way that the added damage attributes on items work is fine.

that's what I'm trying to make here.
added elemental damage on the same elemental spell.
not directly to the base damage on the spell but another fixed damage for it.

like when you point on the spell it will say "added cold damage".

you don't see many casters around POE cuz they don't hold the highest dps like they used to.
like for example. ice spear. you don't see people running around using ice spear anymore.
cuz spectral throw + hatred are so much better then ice spear.

You're kinda out of topic here.
But I still think crit spec throw + hatred is way better, coz it can either life gain on hit or life leech without linking gems.
Same time it deals more damage plus mobs don't get close too.

Melee character get every added damage attributes on armors
It even adds to there base skill damages(added physical damage on rings and amulet) .
So why can't spells works the same way too?

Because Cast on Crit. It allows you to cast 20+ spells per second. Imagine if they all got added flat damage without having to sacrifice a link.

I agree that it could make spells too powerful. But I think the OP is onto something. Why not have a new prefix/suffix that adds damage to spells? They could be scaled differently, but still have the same purpose.
